Welcome to FreeSoftwareServers Confluence Wiki

Seem to have Issues with CentOS 5/6 VM's not seeing the NIC after deployment.

To Fix, move the config out of the network-scripts directory and delete the HWADDR/UUID, then remove the rules.d/70* file then reboot. Move the file back and restart networking.

Many thanks to UniXMen.com , who put out many great articles, I have really enjoyed their work!
To fix this..

mv /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 ~ && nano ~/ifcfg-eth0 && rm /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules && reboot

Remove the following 2 lines BEFORE reboot

cp ~/ifcfg-eth0 /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ && service network restart
Note: I like to make my templates not have the lines HWADDR / UUID before I take exports! Makes life easier. Then you can use the my Custom Alias's...
alias preptemplate="sudo nano /etc/sysconfig/network && sudo nano /etc/hosts && sudo nano /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 && sudo rm /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules && sudo reboot"
